MONTY SUNSHINE – REMEMBERING MONTY SUNSHINE
Artist: MONTY SUNSHINE
***DOUBLE CD FOR THE PRICE OF ONE*** Monty’s place in British Traditional Jazz circles ranks very high: he was in the legendary Crane River Jazz Band, he was in the first Ken Colyer’s Jazzman, he was in Chris Barber’s Jazz Band when it reigned supreme throughout the 1950s, he formed his own highly successful band from 1961 into the 2000s. His recording of Petite Fleur has never been unavailable since it was recorded in 1956, was a hit single in 1959 and paved the way for Acker Bilk to bring the clarinet to the fore. This compilation has rare and previously unissued tracks alongside many commercially available tracks by Monty. Also featured on the CDs are Ken Colyer, Chris Barber, Charlie Galbraith, Beryl Bryden and Johnny Parker. We have also reissued LACD47 featuring Monty’s most popular line-up.
